WATERFULL IN THE GALLERY
The exhibition centers on the evolution of the divine woman archetype in literature. Layers of silk simultaneously obscure and reveal banners of lettering shaped by woice reading poems and submerged hand images. The vertical expanse of the walls creates a cascading vision, as if all words are flowing downward like a waterfall.
LAYER 01 | DIFFERENT PHASES
Posters on the bottom part introduce four different phases of the divine woman archetype following time order. In the mythology, a normal girl drowned and becomes a goddess. In literature, she changed back from a goddess to a normal girl.
LAYER2 | REPRESENTATIVE POEMS
On the top layer, the time flows from right to left, opposite to the direction on the bottom layer. The water elements beside the hands are the same as those on the corresponding bottom layer. Screen of phase04 on the top is blackened out as the one on the bottom, indicating the reversed sequence.
LAYER 03 | VOICE BEHIND LETTERS
The illustration uses a style of traditional Chinese sketches to illuminate four phases of water that usually connect with corresponding type of the Divine Woman.
Sensual Goddess: clouds;
Alluring Nymph: turbulance;
Loyal Lover: ripples;
Ordinary Mortal:rain.

LAYER 04 | RESONANCE BETWEEN WOMEN FROM ALL ERAS
Photos hide behind posters indicate how the female voice is berried under literary emergence. The modern photos and ancient-style illustration also resonate with each other, indicating the intertwined destiny between the divine woman and women from all eras.
